Created in 2016 by mobile food chef, Caleb Stiles of The Lunch Boxtruck, Food Truck Friday quickly became a community favorite. With over a dozen trucks at each event, Food Truck Friday offers food, entertainment, and new family traditions in the shady atmosphere of Carthage Central Park. In 2018, the Carthage Convention and Visitor’s Bureau, continues to work with Caleb Stiles and the Food Truck Friday committee, to host the event and hopes to bring more food, art, and entertainment to the Central Park on the second Friday of each month.

Frequently Asked Questions:
Every Friday? No, Food Truck Friday is on the second Friday of each month from April – September. We’ll see you again on April 13, 2018.
What time? Noon to 9 pm are the official times we ask all of our trucks to sell. However, we have a few that open early, and a few that stay open late, and a few that leave when they run out of food.
What if it rains? Food Truck Friday happens rain or shine. Event planners are trained stormed spotters and work closely with emergency management and Carthage Fire Department to detect severe weather and will alert attendees of any safety concerns.
Are there tables? Yes… but… The City of Carthage graciously provides picnic tables to Central Park, but tables may fill or may have spills from previous patrons. There are tables, but you are welcome to bring blankets and lawn chairs as well.
Can I bring a pet? Yup, with a leash. We love all the cuties – but let’s not cross over to weird… P.S. Play nice & maybe use waste baggies.
Can I bring my own food or cooler? Sure, but no glass bottles. Bring a blanket. Stretch out and enjoy the day. There’s live music and a car show after 4 pm.
But, really, can I bring my own drinks? Okay, but, really, no glass bottles.
Vendors & Entertainment:
How do I get “in” to Food Truck Friday? Food vendors are essential to the festival. The committee reviews FOOD VENDOR APPLICATIONS based on menu, social media presence (trucks have positive reviews and customer relations), and photos provided in applications (or on social media). Forms will be available February 1, 2018 for the new season.
I don’t sell food; can my business or non-profit group have space at Food Truck Friday? Yes, if you have a business or non-profit to promote, products or crafts to sell, entertainment to share, we want you. Food Truck Friday is about bringing out the best of the best available in the community and the region and we hope you can join us. Our committee reviews TABLE VENDOR APPLICATIONS to avoid repetition, ensure family friendly atmosphere, and limit waste in the park. We encourage non-profit organizations to sell bottled drinks, and fees will be waived. All non-profit organizations wanting to sell food must complete a food vendor process and pay application fees. Forms will be available February 1, 2018 for the new season.
I have a band! Can I play? YES, we need ambiance in the park. You can complete our TABLE VENDOR APPLICATION so that we can make preparations for your space and promote you adequately. Invitations will be sent out mid-October 2017 for the 2018 season.
What time is set up? Food Trucks should be in place and ready to sell food at noon. Check your application and event guidelines for specifics. Set up begins at 8:00 am, health department & public works checks start at 9 am for those who may need annual inspections. The event ends at 9 pm.
